THE SUICIDE SQUAD CAST! First Reactions

Well… There they are folks… Our cast for THE SUICIDE SQUAD movie! At least what has been reported. Honestly I can’t say I have heard anything from DC/WB. Maybe they did confirm it and I missed it… You know what! Hold on. I’m gonna go check… One sec folks……. SON OF A BITCH!! I mean, sorry. Uh yeah! It’s offical folks I checked WB’s Twitter feed and yeah.. It’s confirmed! Shouldn’t come as a surprise to anyone that this Is the cast. Half these people have been linked to this movie since it was first announced. Now! Lets go down the line. Starting from what I like, to what I don’t!

MARGOT ROBBIE/HARLEY QUINN FINALLY!! Praise The Lord! We’re getting our very first live action, living, breathing Harley Quinn! I’m so stoked about this. She’s been long overdue her big screen treatment. The fact that Margot Robbie looks the part, and can clearly pull off the accent, makes her the perfect actress! Although! I can’t full heartedly champion her acting qualities, because I have yet to see her in action. She has gotten rave reviews for her small role in WOLF OF WALL STREET. But that’s all that I’ve heard of her. She is costarring with Will Smith in an upcoming film called FOCUS! I hope to check that out soon. It looks very interesting and she looks really good in the trailer that I’ve seen. (Fingers crossed!)

JARED LETO/THE JOKER It is never a mistake to get talent involved with these movies.. Never! And you don’t get anymore talented then Jared Leto. I mean, the guy won an OSCAR for playing a transgendered Woman with AIDS, in DALLAS BUYERS CLUB! I think he can pull off a raving homicidal lunatic clown with no problem. For his version of the Joker. I would hope that he could give us a mixture of the whimsical that Nicholson gave us in ’89 and the cold calculating mastermind that Heath Ledger gave us in TDK. But at the same time making it his own. I’m so very excited for this casting! I can’t wait to see the first shots of him in makeup and costume.

JAI COURTNEY/CAPTAIN BOOMERANG(BOOMERANG) Jai Courtney has become a very busy man. If I’m not mistaken, we were first introduced to him in SPARTICUS:BLOOD AND SAND (aka: season 1) then he went on to play Bruce Willis son in the last DIE HARD film. Next he has the new TERMINATOR film, TERMINATOR:GENISYS. And I think he’s working on another project after that. And now this! CAPTAIN BOOMERANG or just BOOMERANG at this point. He’s a good fit, acting wise. But also he has the build and the look. And if I’m not mistaken, he is either British, or Australian so he already has the accent down pact. How they translate a guy who’s very good at throwing boomerangs is going to be very interesting to see. After watching the recent DCU Animated feature, ASSAULT ON ARKHAM. I’ve noticed that Boomerang brings a bit of levity to situations. So I hope they keep that aspect of his character in tact.

TOM HARDY/RICK FLAGG Another great talent! I’m a Hardy fan. But who the hell is RICK FLAGG?!? After some investigating. Turns out that Flagg is the original lease of the Squad way back in the day of the original comics. It’s cool that they are throwing Someone relatively unknown in to the mix of the more up to date characters. I don’t have much else to say about it. Hardy is awesome! This seems like a great fit for him, character wise. I’m looking forward to it.

CARA DELEVINGE/ENCHANTRESS Yet another Model turned actress. I’m not mad at all about the casting. It’s who she’s playing that has me concerned. Enchantress?!? I’m sorry but.. Why?! Is Magic the best way to go for something like this? I can’t attest to her acting capabilities. But based on her looks alone.. I can see her as a better fit for, KILLER FROST 

But I hope they know what they are doing. And I hope it works out for the best.

WILL SMITH/DEADSHOTOkay… How can I put this, so I don’t sound like a total.. Ass?… NOOO!! Why?!? Just. Stop. Do not pass go! Do not collect $200!! Okay. I’m not commenting negatively on Smiths acting prowess. I’m not. He just does not, fit? Smith is a very talented actor! He’s well on his way to finding that role that’s going to he him that Oscar nomination.. But he should stick to those types of films! I don’t want Will Smith in a DC or MARVEL film. I don’t wan him anywhere near these films at all. Look, there are those types of actors, that can play certain roles, while still being themselves! (If that makes any sense at all!) for example: Denzel Washington. Phenomenal actor! But we’ve seen him do alot of roles when it’s just. Denzel as so and so. He’s great in the role, but it’s Denzel every time. Samuel L. Jackson.. Nuff said! Sure his name is Nick Fury.. But, it’s Sam Jackson. Tom Hanks is another that comes to mind. This is not a knock on these guys talent. It’s just, how I see it. And I’m sure there are plenty of you who see it too! Well. Will Smith is no different. I’m afraid he just may be too big for Deadshot! I don’t want to see Will Smith as Deadshot… I want to see DEADSHOT! I want someone that’s not going to take away from the CHARACTER, I want someone who could vanish in to It and give the best performance possable. So, I’m not too happy with this bit of casting.. But if DC wants to do this and they feel confident enough to have Smith.. Then the best of luck to them.

Another Me And Myself Debate: THE SUICIDE SQUAD MOVIE!

Hey, uhm, you there?! (“Sigh.. Yea?! Where else would I be?!”) Cool! Uh, apparently. A lot of folks seemed to enjoy our last debate. So I was thinking.. Maybe we can do it again? (“…… Your stupidity ceases to amaze me. You DO realize that I’m not…. Forget it! What’s this about?”) THE SUICIDE SQUAD MOVIE! (“Ah! Ok. What about it?”) Well. There seems to be a shit load of  rumors flying around about the casting. Maybe we could try and clear the air a bit and shed some light on some key things?! (“Ok.. I’m game! Lets see what’s in the old memory banks over here.. .. Nope! Not that!….  … Can’t believe you still haven’t let go of that one! Hold on.. Aha! Found it! Ok.. Says here, Will Smith is being considered for a role!”) Yeah.. NO! (“Why not?!”) I don’t want him anywhere near a comic book movie. At all! (“Hey, he’s a pretty good actor.”) Sure he is! That doesn’t mean he should be in this type of movie! (“Now hold on. Says here, he’s up for… Black Spider?!…”) yea, exactly. Do you honestly believe someone with the “star power” of Will Smith be interested in a two or three tired character?! Come on! He’s not gonna settle for anything less then lead role!? Plus! He’s just not right for this universe! (” okay.. I agree with you on those points. So, are you trying to say he should have a role in the Marvel U?!”) HELL NO!! Let him keep Pursuing Happyness or something! (” looks like the beautiful Marrgoit Robbie is playing our favorite, HARLEY QUINN!”) Yea, hasn’t been fully/offically confirmed, yet, but it sounds great. I’ve seen the fan made mock ups and she looks just like Harley. (“But! On the off chance of she not being Harley.. Who can she play?”) KILLER FROST! Is most likely the next best choice. (“Lets, see.. Tom Hardy, Ryan Gosling, Jai Courtney, and several other names have been floating around also.”) yes they have. But Tom Hardy’s name is being brought up for everything now a days. From XMEN:APOCOLYPSE to *PRINCESS AND THE POAPER*! (“Not an actual movie folks! Just so ya know!”) Plus, he’s also signed up to play Elton John in a biopic about the musician. So I can’t even imagine if he’s going to even have time to participate in this new DCU. (“For those of you who don’t know. Tom previously portrayed BANE in the last Batman film. So I can’t imagine if he’s even actually considered for this film at all!”) Good point! Although he could probably rock KGBEAST! As for Gosling, I can picture him as a Captain Boomerang. Assuming BOOMERANG is even involved in this version of the Squad that they’re making. Jai Courtney is Currently rumored to be thier choice for DEADSHOT! (” I can see that working.”) Agreed. But again, all of this is pure speculation. (“Of course. I for one. Believe they should go with smaller name stars. Ones that wouldn’t take the focus away from the characters that they are playing.”) Good point. But they should at least have a few big names to carry the picture. (“Perhaps.”) So. Before we conclude this article. Is there anything else? (“Saved the most interesting for last. JARED LETO as The Joker!”) Well! First things first! Hell Yes! He is a tremendous talent. And is exactly the kind of star power I was talking about. That being said.. It’s no where near official! It’s not confirmed! But it is a strong possibility at this point. With some of the comments that he has said recently. It does look that’s where thing are going. But we still don’t know for sure.  (“Well. It’s very clear DC/WB is trying to feed on some of the success of Marvel’s Guardians Of The Galaxy. And presenting a low level property on the forefront. It’s going to be fun to see where things will go.”) Indeed. But before we sign off I want to address something. (“What’s that?”)

I know we fans are SUPER excited for the upcoming comic book movies and we are very eager to find out all the info that we can. And I understand that it’s fun to speculate and debate on Who’s going to be who and who should be who! But with all this excitement, must come caution in what we report to each other and what we read in social media. Unless it comes from WB/DC, or MARVEL STUDIOS or the respected studios or company’s that are behind these films. NOTHING SHOULD BE TAKEN AS TRUTH!! Nothing at all! Unless there’s a full blown press release from the studios. Then it’s most likely nnot true! So please folks. Read carefully the news reports and such. And to those who do ‘Report’ on these things. Please be careful what you post! Be more responsable with your news giving. I think you owe that much to your readers and followers to respect them enough to give them the truth!

DC’s Cinamatic Universe: What Can We Expect?!

Whats up! Ladies and Gentelnerds! Multi-Verse back at you again. This is a truly magical and blessed time to be a Geek/Nerd! From now till 2020! Marvel/Disney and DC/WB will be giving us the most  jam packed decade and a half of Comic Based Movies, in history.

So, today I wanted to take a moment and look at what DC/WB has in store for us. (Nothing in particular order to thier designated release date.) First off! THE SUICIDE SQUAD!

Taking a page out of Marvel Studios Movie Handbook. DC/WB is taking a chance on a minimally popular, but mostly unknown property and group of Characters and making it its next big picture after Batman v Superman. The Suicide Squad, is a group of imprisoned Super Villains. Extremely  forced into government service and do the jobs no others would do. Why? Cause they are expendable. If they fail and die in their mission. That’s five or so less criminals in the world to worry about. They are like the A-team, Mission Imposable, and The Usual Suspects all rolled into one. That’s the kinda balance DC/WB needs to find, in order to make this an entertaining and involving film. The team usually mainly features the likes of DeadShot, Harley Quinn, Captain Boomerang, Black Spider and others. The team stared in an animated feature “ASSAULT ON ARKHAM” In my opinion, one of the best animated films out in some time. Another challenge for this movie, is a two headed one. To find the right actors to portray these characters, and to find a way to make us care and worry about a group of killers and psychopaths! That also hinges on a good screenplay. But, the right actors could make or break your film as well.

WONDER WOMAN!! FINALLY! It’s official. We are getting our first stand alone female hero film! And it’s the woman that started it all! It’s about damn time! Only one problem… Gal Gadot! We have yet to see what she can do as WW, in BvS, so.. That’s what worries me. Will she be a good, scratch that, IS she Wonder Woman!? If we fans don’t like what she does in whatever role she plays in BvS, what are the chances of her coming back for the stand alone, an are we going to accept her?! The answer to that is yet to come. Fingers crossed. (But if things don’t work out. It gives DC/WB a chance to get it write and cast Gemma Anderton!) Another thing.. Am I the only one not happy with the whole Zeus  being her dad thing and all that?!? Even if it’s in the New 52 storyline. I don’t care for it? Hypolita better remain her mother. Just saying.

GREEN LANTERN GETS A SECOND CHANCE. 

GL will be rebooted. Now, do they try Hal again. Or do they try and bring some damn diversity and go with John Stewart?! That what I wanna know. My generations GL was Kyle Ryner. But I would like to see John Stewart’s GL. I’m not saying both Kyle and Hal need to be looked over, but restarting it with John would be cool. Hal could still exist in this universe. But, he’s not available on earth when shit goes down. Enter John! It’s actually pretty simple. Here’s hoping!

THE FLASH!!! With Ezra Miller! WAIT!.. WHO?!

… Hmm….. Okay… New Jersey? He’s a jersey boy!…. CITY ISLAND!? I saw that movie!, can’t say I remember him in it. Gotta check that out again….. PERKS OF A WALLFLOWER? Haven’t seen it.. OH! Emma Watson is in that one!? I love her! I would kill for her!!! OMG! EMMA!!!!! Oh, ahem, excuse me. Was checking out his IMDB page… Guess I got a little side tracked… So, anyway. That was the surprise for me. They already have a Flash!! I got nothing! Uhm, I wonder which Flash though? Wally, or Barry? Probably can’t be Barry, cause they have him on the show already. So, I guess Wally would be the next logical choice. Can’t wait to see where This goes.

SHAZAM/BLACK ADAM!Only two things are known as fact about this movie. 1, It’s not being distributed or produced by WB Proper. Instead, a subsidiary of WB, NEW LINE, is the force behind this film. (Which leaves many to speculate, whether or not it’s going to be included within the overall DCCU!) and 2, Dwayne ‘THE ROCK’Johnson will be BLACK ADAM! And I guess we can add the release date is another fact that’s known about the movie.. But that’s about it! Can’t wait to hear and see what else comes out of this movie in the coming months!

JUSTICE LEAGUE parts 1 and 2 Will be Zack Snyder’s!

Zack Snyder will direct The Justice League two parter film! Wait.. Two, parter?! Why not just say, JL 1 and 2? Why designate it, part 1 and part 2? What is it with WB and cutting their movies into two “Parts” (Harry Potter, Hunger Games, Twilight just to name a few!… Don’t honestly know if the last two belong to WB, but I’m sticking to my examples! :P) Anyway! The fact that they gave Zack JL, just shows that they like what he’s doing with BvS and have faith in his direction.

Theres so many other things that’s to come from DC/WB! I just can’t wait to see how it all comes together. Well. I hope I, informed, entertained and inlightened you folks with today’s Blog.
