THE LEGEND OF ZELDA MOVIE: How It Should Be Done!

Hey There ladies and gentelnerds! It’s been awhile. Hope this blog finds you all well and happy and full of life… If not, that’s none of my business!

Not to long ago, I wrote a piece for the website UnleashTheFanboy.com, entitled, “The Top 5 Reasons We May Never Get A LOZ Movie” I stated some very valid reasons on why it may not happen. But here today, I propose probably the ONLY way this movie can happen and how it should go. (As if I know a damn thing about how the movie business goes!)

So, without further ado. Shall I began!

As I stated in the top 5 list. The story and mythos of  The Legend Of Zelda, is tremendously EPIC! There’s just too much going on in just one game to make a trilogy, let alone, one film.

You can’t make a series off of The first Game, you can’t take “Ocarina Of Time” and split it into two or three movies. Neither can you do that for “Twilight Princess”, “WindWaker”, nor “Majoras Mask”! (Of course I speak of the most popular installments of the franchise) Theres just too much going on in those games to not please the pure fans, but also interest regular movie goers.

So. Here’s my ingenious plan. Create a brand new story! Something completely original. But still stays true to the mythos and core of the games. To help build a trilogy or a four parter. You can use the story elements of these five game.

1. 

The basic premise of the first game is a perfect starting off point. If only to introduce certain key characters.

2.

The Scope of the story of Ocarina is meaty enough to support a Multi picture franchise. With of course major creative licensing, you don’t have too incorporate every faucet of this story. Just use it as, a map of sorts.

3.

Just like, Ocarina, Twilight’s epic sweeping tale, melds perfectly with Ocarina’s. so much so, Certain plot points, characters and events can be mixed in to the over all story. The Twilight realm, Midna, and the villain of the game can easily fit into the overarching tale of a trilogy.

4.

Majora’s Mask would make for an excellent cap off for the series. After our hero saves Hyrule. He must contend with saving the whole world! Take out of course. Termina, Clock Town, and the whole convoluted three day time travel shit from the game. And again. It blends in with the other two stories, without sacrificing its individuality.

5. 

Now, if. And I do mean, IF! They could stretch it in to a four part franchise. I could see WindWaker being a nice send off after Majora’s Mask. Of course, major tweaking would have to be made to the story. In order for it to blend in to the rest of the series. (I hate to even suggest it!) but that would mean sacrificing alot of what made WW special.

That being said. Now that the plots been established. Who’s directing? My choice would be the king of epics! Peter Jackson! Or Del Torro would be my next pick. Scoring would of course go to John Williams. No one else could do it. No. One. Else! ILM would do the special effects! And if you had to ask me which studio I would pick to produce this franchise…… I would have to give it to Warner Bros. Disney… I’m hesitant with them and Zelda mixing. Finally, producers. Steven Spielberg, George Lucas and of Course Peter Jackson!

All of this is purely hypothetical. Nintendo isn’t planning on giving the rights to there pride and joy to just any American Movie Studio any time soon.

MARVEL’S NEVER-ENDING STORY!

Hey! Just when you thought it was safe to go back to the Internet.. BAM! I’m back bitches!!! Multi-Verse here to lay some “Stupid” knowledge on your asses!!

So! A rumor came out earlier today. (Not today, today. As in the day in your reading this. But as in, today the day I’m writing this crap… Get it?.. Good!) The rumor is, in the after credits scene of the (Upcoming mind you) Avengers: Age Of Ultron, there is a scene in witch a new roster of Avengers will be introduced for the next film. Among them, Black Panther and (wait for it….) Carol Danvers aka Captain Marvel! (Boom Baby!) Now. Assuming these rumors are true. That would be awesome on so many levels, and I’m even more looking forward to this film.

With this in mind. It got me to thinking.. ( witch we all know is not always such a good thing, but maybe in this case it could turn out differently.. Maybe!)

Marvel Studios’ phase 15 (or whatever the hell it is!?) stretches all the way until 2019, if I’m not mistaken. Seemingly wrapping things up with Avengers 3 and the big showdown with Thanos, perhaps empowered with the Infinity Gauntlet, and que the curtain call. But.. Then what?! It really doesn’t look like the comic book themed movie craze is gonna slow down any time soon. Would Marvel/Disney just call it over and done once they’ve presented thier final planned film?!? I propose a couple of things that could happen next.

(WARNING: THE FOLLOWING BS AND NERD RAMBELINGS BY THE WRITER ARE STRICTLY THE VIEWS OF THE STUPID WRITER.. THEY DO NOT REFLECT ON THE WRITER OR HIS LACK OF INTELLIGENCE OR IMAGINATION! Thank You and Enjoy the ride suckers!)

Kang The Conquor could be the next logical choice of villain for this or any futrue incarnation of the Avengers.

Whether it be Chris Evens’ Cap and crew, or Sebastian Stan’s (and or Anthony Mackie’s) Captain America Crew. Hopefully, included in either version of the team, will be Captain Marvel and Black Panther.

The Avengers comics themselves have the team change rosters countless times. And form new factions, such as Avengers:West Coast, Secret Avengers, New Avengers, and each team has had a different set of members and story lines. Here’s a few I can see going to the big screen.

AVENGERS: DISASSEMBLED

With The Scarlet Witch being introduced in “Age of Ultron” and perhaps becoming a permanent fixture for the remaining films. This story could be a great movie. With Kang possibly being the driving force behind why she could go bat shit crazy. But, just a thought.

AVENGERS: FEAR ITSELF!

Fear itself would be a really great fantasy adventure for The Avengers. ( haven’t had the pleasure of reading the series. But I do know the premise of the story and would be very intrigued to see it on the big screen.

CIVIL WAR!

This can be done. I honestly believe it can. Granted with rights to certain key characters belonging to other studios at the moment. The story can’t be told as it is in the pages. But! A version of this ground breaking story can be told, with the characters Marvel Studios does have in their cabinet. Two of the main characters, Cap and Iron Man are all that’s needed to carry the film. Some how, some way, Civil War can be translated to the big screen.

Not only can The Avengers live on. But there’s plenty of space for other story lines and other events to take over our summers. With the rumored INHUMANS film swimming around out there (LIGHTNING BOLT STRAIGHT TO THE BRAIN RIGHT NOW!! Seriously! How about, Marvel “Trades” Fox Inhumans, for Silver Surfer and all the characters that come with him!? I mean think about it. Marvel (in my opinion) doesn’t really need The Inhumans in their roster. I can’t really picture any real use for them in either, a Guardians Franchise, or an Avengers story line.. UNLESS! They decide to do an INHUMANITY storyline  adaptation. That’s the only logical direction I can see them going with the Inhumans. But. With The Silver Surfer and his supporting cast of Characters, could be a major boost to Marvels Guardians Franchise. But thats just me.

Since Marvel is pioneering the concept of bridging Movies and Television together, with Agents of Shield and any other Marvel Film. The rumored possibility of Marvel doing the same with their Netflix Shows. DareDevil, Cage, Jessica Jones and The Defenders. So many doors are available to just kick down and say, “MOVE BITCH! GET OUT THE WAY, GET OUT THE WAY!”

It’s exciting to try and picture, what’s next! Where can you take us this time, Marvel?! I can’t wait to see what the future has in store for us as not just Comic Book Fans, But Movie Enthusiast as well. I can see Marvel Movies continuing on for our children’s children’s children!

NOW IF ONLY, DC/WB CAN CATCH THE FUCK UP ALREADY! EVERYTHING WOULD BE PERFECT!
